Once again, just as before, all eyes were on me in this dojo. They showed curiosity and were like lasers, aimed straight at my own to blind my sight. However, all I did was look back with a sense of determination and certainty. As for the Student Council stand-in, she just showed me eyes that were pleased and interested. I already know that she may be getting exactly what she wants from me, but maybe that's fine as long as I get to see exactly what they plan to do with me. If they want a dog, then that's what I'll give them. I won't be like that attack dog Daichi, but I'll see what I can do.
Then, there was Yuki. Like before in the classroom, she seemed to be trying to look through me, but the main difference here was that she won't find anything beyond what she sees in me right now. To her, I'm just some idiot who has no clue on how to use my power or what I'm doing by joining all three clubs here. To be fair, even I don't know what I'm trying to accomplish, but somewhere deep inside of me, I feel like this was the best decision to take.
"Like I said a few moments ago, I plan on being a member of all three clubs. The reason I chose to join them all instead of picking just one is mostly because I really can't tell which club is good or bad just by the people who are in it or the descriptions you give. If I were to pick one of you, I don't know if I'd be picking the right one, so for anyone who is wondering why I chose this path, there's your explanation." I stated in a very clear voice. Honestly, I'm not very good at public speaking, or being the center of attention like this, but I believe I had to get this over with as quickly as I could. (Plus, if this was an anime, the most obvious choice would have been the Anime Guild and I didn't want to go down that route, but I did need to be involved with them, so this choice was ideal.)
"I have no problem with that decision." Naoko said a moment after I was done.
"But, Norik-"
"It's fine, Daichi." Naoko interrupted her enforcer, making him sit back in his chair and look off in a different direction. I couldn't help but chuckle a bit, which got me a death stare from Daichi that made my skin crawl.
"I can't put in any judgement on this decision, Tokachi-kun, but it seems like you are serious about this choice, so I'll just say that it was a good choice." Hideki gave a nod to me, to which I gave a slight nod back.
"Hmm...this is quite interesting to me. Instead of disappointing two clubs by favoring one, maybe costing possible alliances and friendships, you decide to stretch yourself out by choosing all of the above." Yuki thought out loud, grinning at me before laughing a bit. She is really starting to piss me off with her nonchalant attitude. I could just choose to join only the KMA and SC clubs, but she's right when it comes to possible missed opportunities if I chose to go in that direction. "I like it. I would have never thought a peasant like you could bring me such good entertainment just on his first day here. You truly are interesting, Tokachi Ren, and I have no problem with your choice." She said, standing up from the table and walking towards the door. "Come on, Tetsu. It's almost time to go back to class."
"Who said you can command me? I'm the club president here, not you." Tetsu retorted.
"...wait, you are?" I blurted out, which was followed by a death glare from Tetsu which made a chill run down my spine. I mean, come on. I'm sure anyone who was watching a show or light novel like this would think Yuki was the club president, not Tetsu. In any case, he ended up following Yuki out the door just as the bell rang for classes to resume.
As I got up to take my leave as well, I bowed to the KMA club. "Thank you for the meal and I hope to be a good member of the club." I rose my head back up and started walking towards the door, however, my shoulder was grabbed by someone. I looked back to see Naoko with her red eyes looking deep into mine.
"Come by the club an hour after school so I can instate you in the Student Council and give you your new uniform." She briefly said and walked past me out the door.
"Be exactly on time, rookie." Daichi grabbed my tie and pulled me close to his serious face. After giving me a chilling stare, he let go and followed Naoko.
As I finally left the dojo, I couldn't help but think about what other people I will meet in these clubs and what kind of people they may be. Also, I wondered what my property could do in helping this school and myself in this 'war' that I've only heard about. I mean, is there really some war going on? I don't really see one around, but it's probably some underground thing. Either way, I can tell it's going to be a long road to graduation...if I survive, of course.
