After a bit of rushing all the way from my house and past people that I never met, I finally make it to the school: Misaki High. Out of the surrounding high schools, this one is the second most prestigious and is the #1 school that is popular among students from junior highs...well, from overhearing it when I was shopping in a convenience store about a week and a half ago.
Anyway, after getting that information, I told my parents to enroll me here and here I am to start my new live in this town.
As I passed by, there were a couple of people outside of the school and in the hallways before homeroom that were conversing with each other. Some were female groups, others were male groups, and then you had your 2-person groups which can be summed up pretty quickly: Best buds, childhood friends, potential couples, and official couples (from my point of view). Though, when you look at me, just passing through a crowd of people by myself with toast still left in my mouth, you'd probably guess I was a loner who, in his head, mocked people's youths to cover my own. I half expect to be put in a club with an ice queen to 'enhance my school experience and better myself', but this is my first day of school, so I don't expect to be put into a romantic comedy situation that fast.
So, I finally make it to a door with an overhead sign that read '2-1'. Before I could walk in, I was met with a female teacher who wore a set of glasses and long, black hair. She seemed to have been waiting for me since, as soon as I was in her sight, she came over to me with a bright smile.
"Are you Tokachi-san?" She asked, to which I bowed in show of respect. After doing that, she tells me to wait outside the class until I was called in to introduce myself. As I did so, I just thought to myself about why no other country does this. The other day, I watched this one movie about a boy with powers that had something to do with the number 7. In it, he just walked into class without introducing himself until a bit later, to which I found weird and completely ignored the plot of the movie as I contemplated the customs of other countries. Yes, I'm a nerd.
After the hallway clears and the bell rang, it didn't take long before the teacher called me into the classroom. Taking a deep breath, I marched inside and up to the front of the classroom before grabbing a piece of chalk and writing my name on the board accordingly in a very neat handwriting. I'd have to give props to my father, who helped me with writing Kanji and even English, so I wrote my name in both languages. Though, I heard whispering start when I had finished writing in English before I would turn to them. When I did, I was met with stares that made me slightly cringe and almost made me avert my eyes, but I just made sure to look at everyone in the eyes to show my confidence.
"Hello. My name is Tokachi Ren. It's a pleasure to be here and I hope we can get alo-" I was saying, then I was suddenly stopped by one girl who had a stare different than the others in the room: It was like she was looking through me instead of at me, which made me lose a bit of confidence as I suddenly looked away and bowed with a sudden "Nice to meet you." The teacher, then, put a hand on my shoulder and asked me to go sit in the 3rd seat of the 2nd row, which so happened to be in front of the girl who brought me down with those piercing eyes. Coincidence? I think not.
I swallowed my pride and moved to the seat with my bag, sitting down and putting my belongings on the side of the desk. Since I was sitting near the front, it wasn't hard to hear the teacher as she talked about the daily announcements and stuff. As usual, like in my last school, I zone out and decide to look at the students surrounding me. Ahead of me must be the female class president, considering the fact that she's in the front row and she's the only girl in said front row. I'll find out her name eventually, if I wanted to or not. She had short, red hair and I believe she had a mole under her left eye when I was looking around the room. She seems like the rebellious type, however, so I could be wrong on who the class president truly is.
On either side of me were two guys that were both taller than me just by estimation and observation. The guy to my left seemed to be the lazy type of character, but I could just be saying that since he's sleeping right besides me. I can barely see his closed eyelid and nothing else as his arms covered his face, but he had messy blue hair. He could probably be a delinquent, but until I see him in action, I will just have to guess. As for the other guy, as soon as I looked at him, I felt my face suddenly get hot as I looked at his that has probably made a lot of girls faint. His hair was strawberry blond and long enough to reach his back. Then, when I tried looking at his eyes, which were brown, I realized that they were laser guided in my direction. I immediately turned away and shook my head, not wanting to make this story low-key yaoi.
Right when I was thinking about the girl behind me, I felt a small gust of wind on the back of my neck. I turn my head, in a regular fashion and not in a Shaft-y one, and look at her to see a smile: A devious smile, mind you. Then, she handed me a small slip of paper which I decided to take. I look at it and read the words:
"I apologize for messing with you a few minutes ago. Hopefully, you can find it in your heart to forgive me. Well, you'll probably forgive me away. I mean, who can stay mad at a girl like me?"
Wow...she's a bitch. Not only that...she's like one of those girls who thinks the whole world likes them and will kiss her feet while giving her tea and cheesecake. Definitely not a girl I want as a main heroine, so I decide to be sarcastic as I write back to her:
"Oh yes. I most certainly forgive a girl like you who just thinks everyone will forgive her. Go get Ebola and shut up."
I pass the note back, but after just 30 seconds, I get another slip of paper on my desk from behind me. I looked at it and got slightly irritated as I saw a crying emote.
"That's so mean, Tokachi-chan. I'm almost starting to think you don't like me."
Chan?! What do I look like? A fema- well...I can't say much to that. Anyway, that followed with a laughing emote that make me cringe before I read the bottom sentence:
"Hey. Meet me after class and I'll show you a special place."
The first thought that came to mind was a dirty one, which I decided to remove from my mind for the time being. Instead, I got a bit curious about what she meant. Hopefully, this isn't gonna turn into a thing where I have secret powers from a comet and have to join a school full of supernaturals. She doesn't have a camera, so that probably isn't the case at all. Still, I decide to screw the notes and turn to her, about to speak.
"What place?" I ask, my voice giving off that I was genuinely interested in what this place may be. After that, she just snickered to herself, which almost made me yell in her face out of increasing irritation.
"Oh? Well, I guess you do want to see it...the place that deceives everything." She answered with a grin, but I was too focused on her last few words. A place that deceives...everything?
To be continued...
